Dr. Nathan Ritter

Dr. Nathan Ritter At Hudson Animal Hospital

Dr. Nathan Ritter was born in New York City, and raised in northern New Jersey. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Lafayette College in 2014. He then earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. Returning to New York City, he will be starting his career here at Hudson Animal Hospital.

Dr. Ritter is a member of the American Veterinary Medical AssociationNew York State Veterinary Medical Society, and the Veterinary Medical Association of NYC. Additionally, Dr. Ritter is a USDA-accredited veterinarian which gives him the ability to issue international health certificates for his patients.

Dr. Ritter has particular interests in preventative care and dentistry. In his free time, he enjoys being with his family and dog “Hozier”, watching his favorite sports teams, music, fishing, and golfing.

So what made you want to be a veterinarian?

I was happy to combine my love for medicine with my love for animals.


What college did you attend?

I graduated from Lafayette College in 2014.


And What vet school did you attend?

Oh, the important one! I graduated from Virginia, Maryland, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019.


What is your professional interest?

I am interested in preventative care.


Do you have any pets?

I do. I have three pets at home. I have one mixed-breed dog, one chameleon, and an axolotl.


What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I enjoy sports and hanging out with my family. I also enjoy music and food.
